Taiko

School Presentation

Description of the Program

BATARI is a Japanese and multicultural music ensemble, using Taiko drum, Shakuhachi and other amazing instruments from Japan, East Asia, Southeast Asia and around the Pacific Rim. We present a fascinating and exciting experience of traditional and contemporary music. Batari gives your school a dynamic musical performance and insights into the secret workings of Japanese, Southeast Asian, Native American and other multicultural music and performance.

Audience participation and question time are a part of each show.

Batari has been holding concise educational presentations in schools throughout Queensland since 1996. The reception of students has been very positive and students have been stimulated into a deeper curiosity about Japan, music and other countries of Asia-Pacific regions.
